Praying for the Sick
A James 5 guide to praying for healing with faith.
“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”James 5:14-15 (KJV)
The James 5 pattern
1. Call — the sick person asks for prayer; don't wait.
2. Gather — elders and believers pray over them.
3. Anoint — oil as a symbol of the Holy Spirit's work.
4. Pray the prayer of faith — confident in God's power and will.
5. Confess — clear the air with God and each other (James 5:16).
