Baptism Prep Guide
What baptism means and how to prepare your heart.
What baptism means
Buried and raised
Going under the water pictures being buried with Christ; coming up pictures rising to new life.
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” — Romans 6:4 (KJV)
A public declaration
Baptism tells the world: “I belong to Jesus.” It doesn’t save you — it shows you’ve been saved.
“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” — Acts 2:38 (KJV)
Obedience and joy
Jesus commanded it and modelled it. Baptism is a celebration — bring your people and rejoice together.
